Last Update: 6 October, 2012

Dear Area 3E & 3G Regions,

The 5th  Annual A.Y.S.O. Utica AYSO Fall Tournament will be held at Proctor Park, 1940 Welsh Bush Rd. Utica NY 13501, on Saturday, October 13, 2012

The tournament is planned to be round robin format with short-sided games, 7 v 7. Games will last 20 minutes with a short half-time break. Substitutions may be made at half time and, quickly, at a stoppage in play near half way through each half. Free substitutions will not be allowed.  The maximum of players per team roster is 12.

The schedule of game is as follows: the boys division will be starting at 8:30 am with a coaches meeting, the games to start shortly afterwards. The boys teams should be at the fields by 8 am.

The girls division will be starting after the boys division is concluded, at approximately 1:00 pm with a coaches meeting, and the games starting shortly afterwards. The girls teams should be at the fields by 12:30 pm.

All players will receive participation awards.

Participation will be limited to 8 teams per division to accommodate time and field limitations. The first 8 teams, allowing one team per region, will be accepted. Regions will be allowed to enter a second team only if 8 teams from 8 different regions are not registered by the entry deadline. If more than 8 teams register per division, the first 8 teams will be allowed to participate and the remaining teams placed on a waiting list in case a team backs out. With 8 teams, two 4-team divisions and a playoff format may be used instead of round robin.

Players must be registered with their A.Y.S.O. region and must be participating in the Fall 2012 season on a regular basis. Players must be registered and playing in the tournament at the level they play during the regular season.

Team coaches must be AYSO certified for the level they are coaching or higher. For example,  a U-10 coach that has completed AYSO U-12 training may enter a U-10 team into the tournament. It will be up to the regional commissioner to verify the coach's training certification.

When selecting players for a tournament team, each Region should use a process that is fair and open to all players. During the tournament, Coaches should ensure that all players receive as much playing time as possible. Every player should play at least half of the available playing time at the tournament.

Players for a team must be registered within a single region. Players should not be put on a team from another region unless their home team roster is full and there are not enough players to make a 12 player roster from the other region.

To enter teams in the tournament, please complete the team registration form available for download from the tournament Web site at www.ayso3e.org. The registration fee is $12 per player for all teams. Please send a single check made out to AYSO Region 664 for the entire team fee.

Each team needs to provide a qualified referee and assistant referee. Each team entry form must be signed by the Regional Commissioner indicating that the players on the tournament team are registered AYSO players, have participated in the regular Fall 2012 season, and meet the maximum age requirement for their division, and that the coach has the required AYSO coach certification. The team registration form may be obtained by following this link  Team Registration Form PDF or  Team Registration Form MS Word.

A concession stand will be available at the site on the days of the tournament.
